I just got home from a nice visit w/my folks, but not before fishing about 200 yards downstream of the dam in the slower, deeper holes at Fitzgerald Park from 7:30-9:00 this morning. Tossed a 1/8 oz. pink jig w/yellow Twister Tail. Got a 10" smallmouth and lost what I'm pretty sure was a walleye. I lost it right after I saw it; streamlined profile and white on the tail. Would have been just legal or maybe a little below. Could have left at 8:15, as all the surface activity was over about that time, as were the bites. Nice morning, anyway.
Trying a new lake in south-central MI on Friday morning. That'll be the first time in the tube this summer.
