As high of DEET as I can find - if it doesn't make your lips numb, it prolly doesn't work good enough.

I have good luck with the Repel in the green can - I think it's 40% - but it is sold out everywhere around me.

I got some stuff from Dicks as an alternative that works ok - Sawyer maybe?

I don't. I'll grab one of them .99 cent 3 packs of flavored cigars and puff on em. Works great, and you don't have to worry about repelling fish or tigers (turns out DEET is repulsive to just about everything, including tigers, according to an article I read a while back)

Mud bath would be the best option...

Thermacell, or similar brands, work alright until you get even a slight breeze.

An article I read not long ago basically said that certain breeds of the little vampires aren't affected by certain things. I believe it was the Tiger mosquito that certain things (I think it was mint and eucalyptus) didn't work on, so keep that in mind if looking at natural bug sprays. I, and they, could be wrong on that statement, so don't put too much stock into it.

My experience - the mosquitoes this year, probably because there are so many millions of them, are especially bothersome.  Annoying.  A major PITA.  However you want to phrase it.

They aren't necessarily biting me when I have the spray on, but they also aren't staying away when I am lathered up with the mosquito dope.  Nothing worse than having one fly into your eye and getting stuck, and then rubbing it out with DEEt0-covered hands - not pleasant.  And that stupid buzzing noise.  Ugh.

I have also found that I am re-applying the spray a lot more often than normal.  I have used a couple cans in the last two weeks.

I found the thermacell thing to be fine if you're sitting on a chair on the back deck.  Not so good if you are moving or there's any wind at all.

As far as the all-natural stuff - it doesn't work for me.  I'd rather risk cancer than die of blood loss...
