Reel Michigan Anglers tv show
« on: May 31, 2015, 10:28:06 PM »

So a few of you are already aware but here is the big announcement...

I with the help of Smokepole have decided to start filming a fishing show. I have had this idea in the back of my mind for quite some time and Smokepole helped me make the dream a possibility.

Reel Michigan Anglers is a michigan fishing show where myself as the armature fishing enthusiast goes fishing with knowledgeable fisherman all over Michigan to learn how they fish where they do their fishing. The show is intended to be educational as well as entertaining. Yall here on the FishMich forum have taught me a lot about fishing and I hope to share some of that knowledge with the audience.

I have been filming b roll footage for about 2 months now working out kinks with the 2 cameras and I have had the pleasure of getting together with Smokepole and Jason Jablonski to film.

Tomorrow I'm going to lake st. Clair to fish with Trevor Larson and have a few other guests lined up! I would like to eventually feature any of the pro staffers here who are interested in participating.

Meanwhile check out our facebook page and I'll keep you posted as to when the first episode will air.

This is an awesome idea, just recently I was talking with my wife about bringing a few cameras out on my fishing and hunting trips just to save the memories with my family I never thought about a fishing show lol. I also told her out of all the shows I've seen I've never really seen any good night fishing segments but with a few generators and a nice lighting set up I'm sure it could be done

You watch many YouTube videos of folks fishing?  Good way of figuring out what not to do...

I'll let you film me while I talk and try to catch fish!  I'm not the most camera-friendly face, but I doubt your typical viewer would mind...  I don't typically fish from a boat, and I like to fish after dark.

Want to do a catfish show?  Start to finish - go catch bait, show how I rig it up, take bait to river, catch fish...  Lighting might be an issue though...

How about LMB from a small lake from shore?

Or, this might be different - pick a completely new area, either river or lake, and cover it from first impressions walking up, evaluating techniques/strategies that might be productive, and then seeing if they work?

Good luck as this sounds like an awesome idea!

Those are all
Good ideas! I am planning a catfish episode but lighting is an issue untill I can afford some battery powered lights. I'm working on that. Alley mad I was going to ask you to do an episode about river drifting. I'm not sure if I want to do episodes by style of fishing, species, time of year or just hodgepodge it together. I'm mostly shooting b role footage and learning from my mistakes. So far I have bass, carp, catfish and trout footage done so those would be my most likely places to start.
