fishing report for 4th competition - Gratiot County
« on: July 06, 2014, 08:01:21 PM »

Went to a local lake to do some fishing for the tournament and had a lot of success on the largemouths, the quantity was awesome as I caught numerous bass throughout the weekend, but not much qualitype or sizing to them to put on the board. I did notice Friday that the wind was strong east wind and had little luck in the morning. However, then the afternoon I got a little more actions from some largemouth bass up feeding on minnows in 3-4 ft water. Was using a split tail jig white in color and landed 2 for 2 on the jig within a 30 minute period. Had a lot of fun fishing and enjoying the weekend with my fiance out on the kayaks and camping on shore. Even if nothing bit and I lost the tournament, it was still better than work!  ;)
