Grand River - Lyons
« on: February 22, 2018, 09:53:51 AM »

For the first time in the 13 or so years I have lived here the grand is officially over the road between Lyons and muir. You cannot access town via m21 as the river is over the highway there too. May be a while before lines can be wet efficiently here.

No need for a boat yet.  Water went down pretty quick but is still completely unfishable from shore.  Hopefully things stay dry so I can get out in the next couple weeks.

Heavy rain, followed by 3-6" of snow tomorrow.  :( Beautiful but chilly Friday-Sunday. I'm dying to see some fish pics here!

I think you're gonna continue to wait unless Tab can manage something in the Red Cedar.  No chance of getting in around here yet.

Itís fishable now.  Got three last week on the 6th.  Hard fishing, but better than watching tv.

I went today as well.  It was cold and windy and slippery and I got skunked.

Nice 'eye's!  Did you see any chrome up there?  I am thinking about making a quick trip on Friday.

I did not see any steelhead, unfortunately.  I am sure they are there though, as I saw some way upstream when I was just out poking around...

Been a long winter.  I have determined I am officially old as It hurts more when I fall, I go to bed at absurdly early hours and am awake before the damn birds, and I wish I could go to Arizona for 4 months out of the year (no offense to anyone fortunate enough to actually be able to do so - envy, yes, offense, no).  Simply put, itís just been too freaking cold...

Of course now that It is still light out when I get out of work, things are looking up!

You guys got any ice down there? We're solid ice up in the UP still. Got hit with a big storm so, probably like 3 weeks before open water on inland lakes.

See my report on the U.P. page about the continuation of winter up there. I beat my old, "latest day ever ice fishing" record by five days this morning.

I was thinking about going just for the heck of it. Just to compare pictures from years past where I was open water bass fishing.
