Haven't been online much lately since I want to spend as much time as possible enjoying the summer before it disappears again
Anyways, I've been to a bunch of lakes in the last week so here goes:
Greenwood Reservoir: Ridiculously windy and just as ridiculously hard to keep the boat under control, but I caught my first keeper size walleye (17"), a couple ridiculously FAT smallies (17" and 18"), a 10" pumpkinseed, a tiny pike and almost a crappie. Just about everything was hammering my PowerTeam Lures Craw D'Oureves, except the walleye which apparently wanted the PTL 7" Tickler. Water level is up A LOT. Not sure how much, but it is quite a bit.
Johnson Lake: Caught a 29" pike while drifting, a bunch of largemouths ranging from 14" to 19", and some nice size bluegills.
Engman Lake (night fishing): Super windy and hard to stay where I wanted, but I managed a few small bluegill, a couple bass and a few pike. No size limit on the pike in here, in case anyone was wondering. Seems like the fishing has deteriorated here since I last fished it.
Escanaba River: Took a canoe trip down river (from the Peter Nordeen Park to the end of Iron Pin road) with some friends, caught 3 fat small mouths (which is NOT what I was targeting) and no trout. A little sore about that fact, but it did rain the night before so it's not that surprising. Water level is finally back to normal, and normal temp for the summer months.
