What's best to catch walleye on the back waters?? Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure what the back waters you speak of are but, spring time, I like to aggressively work jerkbaits and rattles traps for walleye. They are also aggressive in the fall and the same patterns work too.

Most people fish too finesse for walleye. They are among the top predators in our waters so, them smashing a jerkbaits or 5in Texas rigged worm is nothing. Sitting a leech on a floating off the bottom is used too much. Has its place on those slow summer days.

Never thought of it from that perspective, Hobie-Wan. It makes a lot of sense. I'm going to try this method for sure.

Going to second the “fish more aggressively” thought.  When It gets hot then slow down, but water in the 50s demands something fast and banged off structure a lot of times.
