Know exactly where you were.  Don't know how much ice is in town but there's a few shacks out there

Fished a small lake near Charlevoix on Saturday, marked a ton of fish but they didn't really want to cooperate.  Managed 15 7"-10" gills in 4 hours between two of us.

Well a few of the smaller lakes finally iced over last night.  It will be a bit yet but we'll be out there in a week or two!

Saginaw Bay is on fire right now.  Trolling cranks.  If you can get out it's definitely worth the trip!

Sorry guys, it's been a bit.  With the passing of my wife things have been kind of out of sorts but as we all know things turn around eventually.  I have managed to fish quite a bit and actually won an event this year.  It's been tough not having my partner in the boat as well as in life.  I'll keep you posted as I get reacquainted with the Charlevoix area.

If you go next week, I would try the Superior shoreline between Brimley and Paradise.  They usually run a week or so later than the Carp

Well I'll be relocating to Charlevoix by the end of the month.  There's alot more opportunities to fish in the area at least.  Maybe I'll even target some of those "Green" fish

since I'm typically in a boat running 6 rods with planer boards I can usually cover a path 75 to 100 yards wide.  Depending on water temps I'll troll harnesses or cranks to find active fish.  You can cover a ton of water with baits running from surface to bottom.

there were a few that went through Saginaw Bay the past few days.  Ice looked pretty rotten in the Charlevoix area as well
